Vehicle Technician Apprentice

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service offers a Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship within its Fleet Department. Following a four-year programme, this apprentice role offers excellent personal and career development with the opportunity to work towards an accredited Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.

The Fleet Department is responsible for the day to day servicing, repair and maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment, and is made up of a highly professional team of multi-skilled technicians The Vehicle Technician Apprentice forms an important member of the Fleet team, supporting delivery of an effective service by maintaining high performance and contributing to day to day departmental responsibilities.

Competencies and skills to be demonstrated:

Proficient ICT skills
Full clean driving license
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Welsh language speaking and listening skills to level 2 standard - requires that you can: understand the gist of conversations in work, respond to simple job-related requests and requests for factual information, ask simple questions and understand simple responses, express opinions in a limited way as long as the topic is familiar, understand instructions when simple language is used.

The apprenticeship will lead to a nationally recognised Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance.
