Deliberate fires at North Wales Hospital site

Posted

North Wales Police and North Wales Fire Rescue Service have launched a joint investigation following incidents at the North Wales Hospital site in Denbigh.

Firefighters and police officers attended an incident at the property on Thursday 12th May at 9.04pm where rubbish inside the building was set on fire deliberately. Crews and police officers were also called to the same address on the 7th May at 8.12pm to deal with a deliberately started fire.

Kevin Jones, Business Education and Arson Reduction Team Manager at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, added: "Deliberate fires place tremendous pressure on resources, with our crews tied up trying to bring them under control, which in turn delays firefighters from attending life threatening incidents. It could be you or a member of your family that requires our assistance and we may not be able to get to you as quickly or as easily as we would like because we have to deal with a deliberate fire.

"Setting fires is a criminal offence and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is actively working alongside North Wales Police to combat deliberate incidents."

Anyone with information relating to these fires is asked to contact officers at North Wales Police. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
