Appeal to report deliberate fire starters in Wepre ParkPosted 28/06/2012 14:10:36
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is appealing to residents in the Connah's Quay area to be on their guard and to report deliberate fire starters following a number of incidents in the Wepre Park area.
Incidents involving fires and anti-social behaviour have been reported recently where items have been set on fire deliberately.
Kevin Jones, Arson Reduction Manager said: "This type of criminal behaviour puts not only the lives of those carrying out the activity at risk but also the lives of firefighters attempting to extinguish the fire.
"We are working closely with local policing teams to combat deliberate fire starting - arson is a serious crime and in conjunction with North Wales Police we will pursue prosecutions."
Anyone with information in relation to deliberate fire starters is urged to contact North Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.
