Fire at a factory in Oakenholt - update

Four appliances, the Aerial Ladder Platform and the Incident Command Unit attended a fire at a factory on Chester Road, Oakenholt on Sunday 21st July.

The call was received at 1.11pm and appliances from Holywell, Deeside, Flint, the Aerial Ladder platform from Wrexham and an Incident Command Unit from Rhyl were mobilised to the incident.

The fire was brought under control by 5.38pm.

The cause of the fire has been established as tissue being trapped causing friction which resulted in 50 square metres of the building affected but there was no damage to the structure of the building.  

Eight firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 4 hose reel jets and 3 covering jets to extungish the fire.
