Rhyl firefighters raise funds for charity

Posted

Rhyl Firefighters presented cheques to local charities last week after a busy summer of fundraising.

Representatives from St Kentigerns Hospice, Dangerpoint and The Fire Fighters Charity visited Rhyl Fire Station last Friday, October 12th  for the cheque presentation.

Kevin Warner, Watch Manager on White Watch, Rhyl explains: "We were thrilled to be able to present these cheques to these worthy charities.

"The money was raised through an Open Day held on station in August and a sponsored bike ride firefighters undertook at the end of June.

"The open day raised £1000 which was donated to St Kentigerns Hospice.

"The charity cycle ride, which saw firefighters cycling from Caernarfon Castle to Cardiff Castleraised £1500 - this money was split between St Kentigerns Hospice, The Fire Fighters Charity and Dangerpoint.

"The Fire Station Recreation Club contributed to the totals raised and we'd like to thank them and everyone who supported the events. I would also like to thank North Wales Fire and Rescue Service for their support of our fundraising activities."
